From the Crown Prints
All come and partake in fun and fellowship with the Canton of Summergate at our 6th Annual Long Sword/Great Sword Tournament. This event will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Buddy Todd Park in Oceanside.
- There will be two armored lists: one of which is specifically for Long Sword. The winner of each list will do combat against each other to determine the overall winner of the day.
- There will be a rapier list that will be single sword only.
- There will be youth combat and activities.
- Lunch will be available for a nominal fee.
- Traveling Scriptorium will be available for scribes of all levels.
Armored combat rules for the day: Each battle will be with a single two-handed sword. Long swords will be 44” to 66”. Great Swords will be 60” to 90”. No shorter secondary weapons will be allowed. Shields and bucklers will not be allowed. All weapons must be proportional to a European Long Sword or a Great Sword with the hilt approximately 1/3 the weapon. All weapons will be inspected prior to use. Some loaner weapons will also be available for use.
There will be no site fees for this event, but donations will be accepted.

Site opens at 8:00 AM and closes at 5:00 PM.
Directions to the event:
I5 to Oceanside, exit Mission Road, and go East, turn right and proceed South on Mesa Drive. Park is on the left approx. two miles.
