Join Their Excellencies Baron Oliver and Baroness Kate at El Monte County Park on Saturday, November 10th for the Barony of Calafia’s Forty-second anniversary!
Following the tournament will be holding a feast at Heartland Masonic Lodge, located at 695 Ballantyne Street, El Cajon, California 92020.
Minors under the age of 18 attending the event with someone other than their parent or legal guardian must have both a signed and notarized minor’s waiver and a signed and notarized minor’s medical authorization. These forms can be obtained from http://library.sca-caid.org. You will not be permitted on site without the correct signed and notarized forms.
San Diego County Parks require that all pets (not just dogs) be on a leash no more than 6 feet long, and must be attended at all times.
A Special announcement from Their Excellencies Baron Oliver and Baroness Kate:
We would like it known that it is our preference that those who wish to enter the lists for Calafia Anniversary limit themselves to a single list. We would also request, but do not require, that our Champions join us as visual examples during Court at as many of our events as possible.
Site: El Monte Park, 15805 El Monte Rd, Lakeside, CA 92040.
Gate fees: Members 15 and over will be $10.00, members 5-14 will be $5.00. Non-members will be assessed the SCA-required $5.00 non-member surcharge. Children under 5 will be guests of the Barony. The cost for the feast will be $13.00. Please make your checks payable to SCA, Inc./Barony of Calafia.
Eric Space Reservations: Geopolitical units that are planning on attending are requested to contact the event steward with the size of the front of their pavilion, including ropes. Please contact the Event Steward. Please place your reservations as early as possible.
Feast Reservations: The Feast at the end of the Universe day is limited to 100 places. Please contact Mistress Muirenn ingen Donndubáin. Servers and clean up crew are needed. There are a limited number of spaces. Those who serve or clean up will eat for half-price.
Directions to El Monte Park (from the north, west and south): Take your favourite freeway to Interstate 8. Go east to Lake Jennings Park Road. Turn left at the stop sign at end of the off ramp (you will be driving under the freeway). Drive approximately 2 miles. Turn right onto El Monte Road (there’s a 7-11 at the corner). Drive approximately 5 miles on El Monte Road. The park will be on the right.
Directions to El Monte Park (from the east): Take your favourite freeway to Interstate 8. Go west to Lake Jennings Park Road. Turn right at the end of the off ramp onto Lake Jennings Road. Drive approximately 2 miles. Turn right onto El Monte Road (there’s a 7-11 at the corner). Drive approximately 5 miles on El Monte Road. The park will be on the right.
Directions to Heartland Lodge (from El Monte Park): Turn left out of the park. Turn left onto Lake Jennings Park Road. Take Interstate 8 West. Exit Mollison Avenue; turn left at the bottom of the off-ramp. Turn right onto Madison Avenue. Turn right onto Ballantyne. Heartland lodge is the first building on the right after the bridge.
