After completing a twenty-year training and apprenticeship program, he became a Brehon and after more than 10 years of practicing the legal profession (in Ireland, a brehon may act as both advocate and judge, depending on the situation and the need), eventually took service in the court of the Ard-righ Brian Boru in the year 1010.
