The unofficial Baronial Rapier practice began with a small group of enthusiasts, including Donne the Bald, Kelan, Muiriath, Kim, and Tim McBride, who would occasionally drop by. The group expanded with the addition of newcomers from Naevehjem, such as John Gar Demetria. Later, Tora joined the fray. As the group's camaraderie and skills grew, Donne and Kelan decided to formalize their gatherings by creating a household/warband, bringing their shared passion for rapier combat to the forefront.
The rapier unit The Companions of the Cross and Dragon was founded in Dun Or by Donn the Bald and Kelan McBride of Arainn. The unit received the Crossed Swords in 02/01/2003.
