- Autocrats: Viscount Gregory of York and Balin of Tor

(December 1976 issue)
On December 11 there will be a Mini-Tourney sponsored by Viscount Gregory of York and Balin of Tor, held at the Calafia Circle in Calafia (Balboa Park). It is a one-day event (bring your own lunch). The lists will be for 3-man melee teams chosen at random with a maximum of 1 knight on each team. Only 2 shields may be used per team and a kite counts as 2 shields. Prizes will be for 1) Winning Melee Team; 2) Winner of the Croquet Match; 3) Caid Battle Song (sponsored by Lord Charles de Rouen; and 4) Satire of a Fighter Poem (no one in particular is to be satirized--just fighters in general) sponsored by Lady Fiona. There will also be a tactics contest. There will also probably be a revel. Please contact Viscount Gregory for further details. (Personal information deleted)
Opening Court is at 10:00am; melees begin at 11:00, immediately after weapons inspection. Crash space for the night can be obtained.
