Thanks for the input so far. --Kolfinna 14:38, 14 June 2008 (PDT)

Put the credit for the photo on the actual photo, not the page. For example, you put Courtesy of Kolfinna on the Alexander Kallidokos page, however if someone else uses that photo elsewhere in the site, the name won't get attached. Instead put the credit on the actual picture page Image:AlexK Darach08.jpg, something along the lines of "photo by Kolfinna kottr, that way the credit always resides with that one photo. --Kolfinna 20:11, 17 June 2008 (PDT)

  • Ah, got it. So it doesn't need to be then also under the photo on the page in which is is displayed, too?Capnlot
    • Nope. The photocaption is meant to describe who is in the picture, where the picture came from. I.e. for Alexander's its Alexander at Darach Anniversary 2008. A picture where one person is the main focus, with people in the background might be Sponge Bob at Coronation. In the background is Patrick. Or a large group picture might be, the Viking Warband. --Kolfinna 20:20, 17 June 2008 (PDT)

I also have discussion items that I need your feedback on Help:Fix#Discussion_Items. Thanks! --Kolfinna 09:30, 23 June 2008 (PDT)

Action photos for fencers?

Hi, Capn Lot. Check out the chivalry pages on the wiki. Kolfinna has been importing these from the Chivalry of Caid webpage. There are typically two photos of each knight or master, one "headshot" plus one "action shot". I think they're really cool and think that the White Scarves and other fencers could benefit from similar treatment. If you're looking for something to do and have the time and resources to undertake adding photos, please feel free.--Lachlan 09:01, 11 November 2008 (PST)

  • The most important addition is the Help:Populace_Names which is a direct feed from the OP, so should have the proper spelling for the majority of Caidans. Thanks! --Kolfinna 11:10, 25 June 2008 (PDT)

Commentary Wanted

Change to how User Groups Work

Great news! The Kingdom Webwright has given us a 3 month window to test to see how it would work if all users had edit abilities. So all users have been added to the "Commenters" group which allows you to edit live pages and upload photos. Jump right in and start adding new pages and editing old ones! If you need help on how to edit the wiki, visit Help:Contents. If I don't know who you are (i.e. I need to match your SCA name to your wiki account) you will not be added to the commenters group. This is rare, only a few of you I haven't been able to place. Email me at wiki@caid-commons.org if you need further help. --Kolfinna 13:34, 20 August 2008 (PDT)
