My dear friends I am so sorry to hear of this painful and deep loss. All anyone could say of Thomas is what a sweet, sweet man he is. I know we will all miss him very much. To all of you closer to Thomas then I, I send you my deepest heart felt sympathy.

From Sabotia of Nordwache

Poem dedicated to Thomas of St. Brendan

There is another sky, Ever serene and fair,
And there is another sunshine, Though it be darkness there;
Never mind faded forests, Thomas, Never mind silent fields;
Here is a little forest, Whose leaf is ever green,
Here is a brighter garden, Where not a frost has been,
In its unfading flowers I hear the bright bee hum;
Prithee, my brother, Into my garden come!
~ There is another sky, by Emily Dickison

He will be truly missed, Thomas was a good friend to myself and Marc (Lorcan)

From Conor de Carlton

Today I have been telling people I work with about the loss Tom' parents and our Barony has suffered. I kept trying to describe Tom, and I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Then it hit me. Tom was a Boy Scout. Not in the derogatory, put down kind of way, but in the way it is meant to be. Thomas not only embraced all the ideals of the Scouts, he displayed them on a daily basis. I never saw him without a cheerfulness all his own, and he spread it whenever he could. He never hesitated to help someone that needed it, and was the kind of man that would stick by you and his word. We were not close friends, but he had an easy way about him that made me feel as if we had known each other for years. I will miss him, I will miss that crazy grin he would give just before we charged the shield wall, I will miss his conversations, I will miss his food, I will miss all the things that made him Thomas, I will just plain miss him.

My wife joins me in sending all our best thoughts and condolences to his family and to those in our extended family that were closer to him. I know how we feel and can only imagine the loss you feel.

For Honor
For Glory
For Thomas

{Note: Thomas was made an Eagle Scout in 1997.}

My condolences to his family and friends. I did not know him well, but he struck me as incredibly knowledgeable and generous in sharing what he knew. My son and I won't forget him.

From Joan Silvertoppe

To me, he was the master of baklava, as that was the first incredible pastry of his I enjoyed. He was good at all sorts of baking, and shared his knowledge of how to make them right. He was also into making cordials, tho I never tried it. And he was a fighter, a really good fighter from what I saw, and yet he was not one to brag of any of his skills, or come across as a "fighter type", which is why I think of him as a baker more than a fighter. Although more often than not he was in armor, or wearing his basket pack of stuff. He was a good gentle man, a good friend to all he knew, and he will be sorely missed.

Rest in Peace gentle knight.

From Albrecht Zum Walchensee

I remember him in the kitchen at Francisc's place, teaching us how to make baklava. Later this week I'm going to make baklava.

I remember him bringing bread to the feasts. Pies, cakes. If it was baked, it seemed, he could make it.

From Francesc Miguel Joaquim Inacio

I gave a eulogy at Thomas's memorial. I repeated it to myself in the days before the memorial. Tears stained my words but every time I thought of more to say. Thomas was one of us, You know the knucleheads that put on armor and chase each other around, hitting each other with sticks and laughing all the way. I met Tom about 6 years ago. He came with a few of his friends from Humbolt state to practice at my place. They were fighting up in the west in the Barony of Allyshia. He was wearing a flattop helm and had newbie written all over him. We fought and I think I hit Tom on every part of his body that day. He came up to me later and asked me "How could you hit me like that" I answered "Because you let me". Tom cocked his head thought about it and then grinned. He then endeavored to get better. You see Tom endeavored for excellence in all that he did. He did not do something halfway. My lady was doing a swedish feast and asked Tom to do one desert. He did three. One was an apple cake. We found out that he had baked twenty of them to get it just right. If he ran into something that he could not do. He applied himself to learn how to do it the right way. Along the way he inspired those of us he sought to learn from. In Nordwache we knew Tom as a fighter and a Baker. He would always bring baked goods when he came to a potluck or party. He brought one of his apple pies to a potluck once.After I tasted this treat, I grabbed it and growled "mine". Tom laughed as did everyone else but you see everytime he came to a potluck he brought two apple pies, one for everyone else and one for me. You see that extra touch that makes you feel special,you know that call when you do not expect it, is what Tom did not just for me but for everyone in this Barony and in his life. Tom was Cedric's squire and well on his way of becoming a knight. What does chivalry mean? Integrity, Honor, Humility, Courtesey, Compassion, Kindness, Dedication, Leadership. These all describe what chivalry is, Tom had all these qualities. I gave my fighting belt to his parents, it represents what I believe in and who I am. I had hoped to give it to Tom in this world and see him wear it with pride. When I pass through this mortal veil, I shall see all those that I love, I shall walk towards the camp and see the fire roaring and smell the fresh apple pie, I shall see Tom walking towards me wearing that belt and grinning, I shall know I am home. I am a better man for Tom having been part of my life. He was a man of splendid character.
