The daughter of a Roman officer turned politician and a Visigoth war bride, Valentia grew up on the legends of many cultures. Her favorite place in the world was her father's villa in Alexandria Egypt, where every language in the world could be heard and wares from every part of the world purchased. Her second favorite place was the Colosseum in Rome where she would watch the spectacles with her parents. This was where she first saw the gladiator named Jäger Berg fight. She became infatuated with the gladiator from the north who invoked memories of the legends her mother told her. When he was granted the rudarious she convinced her father to hire him as a personal guard. Eventually, they married and together joined the Horsemen of Judgement Keep, a Roman auxiliary military unit.
