The Dragon of Gorgonoth was a "creature" comprised of three or four armored combatants tied together and variously armed with axes (for the "claws"), polearms (for the "tail") and water bombs (for the "breath"). The dragon first appeared at Angels Anniversary 1976 where it won the championship list and was declared the champion by Baroness Ximena.

A large leather dragon's head was tied to the helmet of the lead fighter, and the rest were lashed together with ropes strung between the fighters' belts. The "tail" fighter faced the rear. At least in the beginning, defeating the dragon required striking it on certain "scales" taped to the armor, particularly a large, red scale taped to the chest of the lead fighter, representing the dragon's heart. Over time, the "rules" for dragon combat were altered to generally make the dragon easier to defeat. Still, the dragon became Angels champion several times over.
