On the weekend of February 17, 18 & 19, War will break out between Atenveldt and the West. The site will be Burro Creek Canyon in Arizona. Fighters from Atenveldt will be coming from as far away as east Texas and Utah. This may be the single biggest fighting event west of the Pennsic Wars. Plan now to attend. The focus of this War will be team combat on smooth and rough terrain, with a battle of champions and combat archery planned. Other events may be added to the schedule -- communicate with the Autocrat, Count Sir Denis of the Titans (contact info omitted). The Principality of the Sun will provide a tavern. Beer for the week end -- $5.

The Army of the Kingdom of the West, over 20 strong, invaded Atenveldt during mid-February. After initial scouting forays, both armies noted the approach of an army from the Kingdom of Caid, apparently waiting jackal-like in the wings, to attack the weakened victor. His grace, Henrik, Duke of Havn, Commander of the Western Army, arranged a truce with the Captains of the Sun in order to remove the scavengers from the field. Cornered in a defile, the Caid soldiery was slaughtered to a man by the Chivalry of Atenveldt and the doughty Western heroes. With the nuisances removed, the two remaining armies girded for sword strokes. Atenveldt, with over three times as many well trained warriors as the West, was led into unfavorable terrain and lost over half of their force before finally driving off the remnants of the Western Army.

The Kingdom of Atenveldt is Hosting a Tri-Kingdom Military Event at Burro Creek on "Presidents Day" Weekend in February.
Event Description From: The Page (January, 1979)
