St Corrigan’s Day

August 12, 2006

Once again the populace of Gallavally invites all of Caid to join us in the cool mountains of our fair Canton for a day of fun, fighting and frivolity! As usual our patron saint got lost on his way to honor our new King and Queen with games worthy of their Viking heritage and ended up just bringing the games to us to play!

Adults: $3.00 Children 6-12: $2.00 Children 5 and under will be guests of the Canton. Non-members please add $3.00 Please make checks payable to: Canton of Gallavally/ SCA Inc.

Schedule of the day:

  • Site opens 8:00am
  • Opening court 10:00am
  • Games begin after court
  • Closing court after games
  • Site Closes 6:00pm

In honor of our Viking Monarchs this year s theme is Viking! The contests for the day will challenge fighters and artisans alike. The fighters will be playing a game of Sheep Rugby, will compete in the Sack the Town Race, and conclude the days fighting with a Bear Pit to establish this years St. Corrigan s Day Champion. For those less martially inclined there will be contests for Best Representation of a Viking ship in any period medium and the best Viking Saga written on site, as well as a Tafl Tournament and Icelandic shot-put. There will also be activities for the children so bring the little ones! Silent Auction: In order to keep using this beautiful (but pricey) park we are once again holding our traditional donational silent auction/raffle. The Event Steward begs for any donation to the Viking Hoard to be raffled and will be eternally grateful. So come one, come all, go Viking, and join us for a day out of the southern heat!
