Khalida al-Khansa is a Sassinid who traveled the Silk Trade routes with her parents until disaster struck and she was kindly taken in by the Duchess Faizeh al-Zarqa. I took the surname al-Khansa, after the name of a poetess who rode with her brothers alongside Mohammed in his early spread of Islam.  
Khalida al-Khansa is the daughter of a seafaring merchant. She travelled frequently with him and the rest of the family from the British Isles to Italy and Egypt. However, a shipwreck killed all but Khalida, who washed ashore in North Africa. At first, taken in by a Bedouin tribe, she was eventually captured and sold into slavery. Sold to the household of Duchess Faizeh al-Zarqa, she is repsonsible for running the household and watching over the Rose.


I currently make my home with Kabila al-Raqs B'Saif in which I am the camp mistress. I am very interested in ensuring all guests of the house as well as everyone else I come across are taken care of: food, drink, a place to sit a bit and breath. I also get to hang out with the 5th every once in awhile since they have fostered me.  
Khalida is currently the protegee of Dame Ismay of Giggleswick. If not hanging out with her pelican, she could be with her once foster family led by Duke Edward and Duchess Mora.  


In the fiber arts I am unofficially overseen in drop spinning and inkle weaving by Mistress Bridget however all sewing misfortunes are my own. Middle Eastern dance forms, I am under the auspices of Her Grace, Duchess [[Faizeh al-Zarqa]]. I am currently practicing drop spindling silk, cotton and wool.
Khalida's interests are in Persian dance, spinning, weaving, dying, illumination, research, anything coffee related and everything that pertains to the comfort of friends and kin. 
 
Khalida lives in Persia in the 900s although can be seen every once in awhile in Viking.  
 
She is fought for by THL (elevated to Knight 2014, Treasure Chest by Conrad II and A'isha) Haldorr Thorhallson
