Come One, Come All as once again the Barony of Gyldenholt will be hosting its annual Unbelted Fighters' Tournament on February 9, 1991. The site is Murdy Park in Huntington Beach. For the fighters there will be double elimination lists, and for the non-fighters there will be all sorts of on-the-spot contests to liven the day (always room for more contests...) Lots of fun is planned. Merchants are welcomed.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
- 7:30am Local Set-Up
- 8:00am Set-Up
- 10:00am Opening Court
- 11:30am Lists Begin
- 4:30pm Closing Court
- 7:00pm Revel Hall Opens
- 7:30pm Revel/Dancing/Games
- 11:00pm Hall Closes
The evening revel will be at the Hall at Murdy Park. The revel theme is "St. Valentine's Day." There will be a chance to be made St. Valentine or Queen of Hearts. There will be dancing, and we will be introducing a new dance in honor of the theme, entitled "The St. Valentine's Day Bransle." There will be tokens available for "wagering," and at the end of the revel the one with the most tokens will receive a prize For those who refuse to participate in honor of the theme, there will be a suitable punishment. In honor of the theme as well there will be a Kiss Auction. If the details on the revel sound a little sketchy, you must attend, where all will be revealed. There will also be a gaming area for Chess and Go or any other medieval game. This will be a sweets and savories revel. The admission price will be $2.00/person or a sweet/savory to feed 8.
