Sir Athanaric Thaurismunths sunus, 75th King of Caid.
Athanaric, also known as Athanaric Thorismund Sunnus, Athanaric Tervingi, and Athanaric of the Trevingi, has been in the SCA since 2000, and currently lives in the Barony of Starkhafn.
At the 2015 Spring Crown Tourney, Sir Athanaric defeated Duke Edward Senestre and won the honor of becoming Caid's new Crown Prince for his lady, Sigriðr in irska.
Persona
As a young Visigoth, Athanaric served in the Eastern Roman army as a cataphract. Before Belisarius and Narsus were dispatched by Emperor Justinian to retake the Western Empire, he defected to the Gothic Kingdom that had risen in its ashes. He became a cavalry officer for the Gothic kings.
