Tired of hauling rugs to serve as flooring for the baronial pavilion, Giuseppe and Giles decided to promote the creation of a groundcloth. Initial discussions with the Financial Committee were positive, and Countessa Lucianna was asked to create a concept sketch for art to decorate the cloth. The Committee approved an expenditure from Baronial funds to purchase the cloth, with a requirement that compensation for the artist and additional materials would be paid by monies raised by providing space for individual's armory on the cloth, and (at a premium) their depiction in the central panel.
