Just outside the stony hills,
A Jarl Francisc rode with pride.
Leaving the Hearth and Home,
His Lady at his side.

Three things a Fighter Knows,
The armor fitting his own hide.
Weapons hurt worse if dull,
And the Jarla who rides at his side.

Heeding the call to battle,
Holding his sword up high
Francisc rode into the fray,
Letting loose his cry.

Three things a fighter knows,
Use a weapon that fits his hand,
Keep your helmet strapped on tight,
Have a battle cry to wake the land.

Four challenges were given,
Four challenges Won.
His Jarla kept watch over him,
Until the day was done.

Three things a fighter knows,
To Trust the Lady at his Back,
The horse between his legs,
And the weapons in the rack.

The sun had touched the treeline,
And the fighting had diminished.
The Jarl stood his ground,
For the day was unfinished.

Three things a Fighter remembers,
The Warrior in front of you,
The Wife who Guards you,
And the fight that is never through.

Twice more he fought,
Using all his skill to win.
Twice he did Yield,
As his eyesight went dim.

But all was not lost,
Not on that bloody field.
His Lady stood over him,
Forcing Death to Yield.

Jarla Seannach grinned wide,
Coming to his side to kneel.
“He’s not dead my lords,” she spoke.
“This will allow him to heal.”

With those words,
She pressed a bottle to his lips,
His eyes opened to see her,
And take a few sips.

To the shock of all,
He stood up and hugged her tight.
Looking around and laughed,
And told them right.

“Three things THIS Warrior Knows,
Knowing When to Yield,
Knowing When to Win,”
He winked at all of them,

“And never piss off the Valkyrie who is your Shield.”

With that, he kissed the Jarla soundly,
And set her upon her horse.
Where did they go? Where did they ride?
Why... To Valhalla! Of course!!!
