Sir Edward Senestre
Victorious in Spring Crown Tourney, A.S. XLII

Cwdd For Edward Senestre

Firelight glows in darkened hall,
Silence falls on gathered host,
One clear note on harp now calls.

As silence falls on gathered host,
To make his boast, Sir Edward stands,
Names them all who gave the ghost.

To make his boast, Sir Edward stands,
His sword in hand, his face alight,
“Ciar inghean Dhaire first felt my might.”

His sword in hand, his face alight,
He recites their names in praise.
“Blaine de Navarre then felt my might.”

He recites their names in praise,
Though at day’s close, just one will rise.
“In the dust, Count Sven soon lays.”

At end of day, just one can rise,
The raven cries to mourn the dead.
“On my blade next Lorccan dies.”

The raven cries to mourn the dead,
And overhead a crescent moon.
“Sir Mansur’s blood, too ran red.”

While overhead a crescent moon,
The people knew and stood, amazed.
“Jarl Francesc fought, but met his doom.”

The people knew and stood, amazed,
Shout is raised from all around.
“Count Sven fell last, with darkened gaze.”

Shout is raised from all around.
“Sir Edward now has won the throne
To place on Mora’s head the crown!”
