I wrote this piece after a dear friend lost his life during an event. The loss of Olaf mac Stiamna took me back to pen as well as back to music on a deeper level. Now, this poem has transformed into song.

Warrior's Lullaby

Warrior, Warrior
Come and stay with me
The battles are all over
And it's time for revelry
Warrior, Warrior
Sit down by my side
We'll drink until the morning
When it's time to say goodbye

When I was small
I watched you live
A life of chivalry
Until the end all you wanted
Was love and comradery

And with the love that you showed us
We grow stronger everyday.
So, even though I truly miss you,
You are not so far away

Warrior, Warrior
Come and stay with me
The battles are all over
And it's time for revelry
Warrior, Warrior
Sit down by my side
And We'll drink until the morning
When it's time to say goodbye

As I grew up
I heard you singing
In the strings of a guitar
All voices raised in joyful praise
Your music never far

And even though,
You're gone, I know
You music still inspires me
Your melodies shall always be
A part of eternity

Warrior, Warrior
Come and stay with me
The battles are all over
And it's time for revelry
Warrior, Warrior
Sit down by my side
And We'll drink until the morning
When it's time to say goodbye

And Again when I think of service
You are always there
For family and community,
Your's the gentlest of care

So when we serve,
I hope, dear friend
That you shall always be
Shining down upon us all
As we take o'er your duties

Warrior, Warrior
Come and stay with me
The battles are all over
And it's time for revelry
Warrior, Warrior
Sit down by my side
And We'll drink until the morning
When it's time to say goodbye
