Royal Artisans of Caid
From Compendum Caidis
At Winter Coronation/12th Night 2025 Their Majesties Valentine and Brocc created the Royal Artisans of Caid.
The purpose of this group is to allow a small group of artisans, who have not yet been recognized as laurels, to showcase the projects they are working on.
Valentine_and_Brocc (Caid Crown #93)
Their Majesties Valentine and Brocc chose the following artisans as the Royal Artisans of Caid for thier reign:
- Artisan: Mistress Cara Michelle DuValier, OP
- Project: An enameled Pelican medallion with setting and a lampwork bead chain
- Artisan: Lady Constance Lane
- Project:: I'm thinking comics. Possibly about my personal journey, or funny things I've witnessed in kingdom
- Artisan: Tiarna (Lord) Fiachra an Doire
- Project: I will do a painting or illumination with the paints and brushes I have made
- Artisan: Herr Ludwig Hebenstreit Von Augspurg
- Project: A pair of landsknecht hosen based off a 1525 portrait by Hans Sebald Beham, coloration influence is based off another woodcut Peter Flotner (in 1535). Hosen will be in white, red, and black with a white linen lining, completely hand sewn (using later historical hosen as influence on stitches to choose, etc), and are a part of a larger experiment as I actively work to cultivate better tailoring skills in line with what a journeyman tailor in 16th century Augspurg would be required to have.
- Artisan: THL Megan de Barri, BoC
- Project: An SCA court barony appropriate version of the 12th cent. crown of Saint Erik of Sweden. The original made out of gilt copper and housed in his reliquary in Uppsala Cathedral, Sweden. I will be using silver and attempting some gilding using heat to fuse the gold as accents since gold is expensive!
- Follow the project at Recreating St. Erik's Funerary Crown.
- Artisan:: Freiin Ylaria Thriepland
- Project: Set of 16th century hats to include a Flinderhaube and heraldic embroidered / beaded tellerbarret
