Peter's sister, Margaret, has made arrangements for an informal gathering of family and friends in Peter's memory to be held at the Leroy Jackson Park this Saturday, July 31, 2010, at 10:00 in the morning. Please join us for this celebration of Peter's life with your memories, photos, and tales of good times had by all, as we say a fond farewell to a dear friend and colleague.

If you are unable to join us in person and wish to share something in writing please email THL Amicia Sennet de Bruges, Baroness of Naevehjem, at amicia@qnet.com. We will read your message at the gathering and get a copy to Peter's sister, Margaret.

From Doria Tecla

In the early days of Dun Or (once called Dun Calma, before the Heralds decided that it wouldn't do for a branch name) Peter was the great instigator: let's have an event, let's have a light-weapons event, let's have a war. Each and every time I would disagree, and every time we would end up having the event/project that he wanted and I ended up working to help. Peter and I co-autocratted the first event in the then-unnamed canton and we co-autocratted the last anniversary event as a canton on the day we became a barony. It seemed important at the time, and more so even now.

How did I come to be a founding baroness? Peter. I had held out for quite some time to the latest idea of his, but then I had a leak in my laundry room pipes. Once the pipes were repaired, I was left with a mushy mess that had once been a plastered wall. Peter offered to help. For an entire weekend, we worked on the wall, and Peter talked. I held adamant through almost all of it but Peter, being Peter, found my achilles heel when he said "You can give awards to the populace of Dun Or." He had me there and he knew it. By Sunday night, the wall was drying and I had committed to running. It was all his idea, and for better or worse, my early participation in the Society I credit to Peter saying, "we need to do this."

He will be missed profoundly.
