7 Jul 1953 -- 13 Aug 1986 Connie Fay Berch died following a fall while recovery from surgery, and is buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Bakersfield, CA.

Lady Leona was a formidable force, she and I fought like siblings and I miss her as much as I would my own blood kin, probably more than many of them, in fact. She was a talented seamstress, a wonderful singer, and one of the guiding forces that led to our Shire of Happy Memory. In so many ways, she was the glue that held us all together and we began fracturing in many ways upon her passing.
