Persona
Alastar MacLachlan is a 16th Century Scottish Highland persona. Born in the village of Strathlachlan in the Highlands on the western coast of Scotland, the son of a skilled blacksmith. From a young age, Alastar displayed a keen interest in his father's craft, often watching with wide-eyed fascination as the rhythmic clang of the hammer echoed through their humble home.
Growing up in the rugged beauty of the Scottish countryside, Alastar developed a love for the land and its people. He spent his days exploring the rolling hills and dense forests, forging a deep connection with the natural world that surrounded him. As he grew older, though, he never had a clear idea of what he wanted to make of his life and he preferred dueling arenas and the clash of the sword, much to the dismay of his parents. In his 41st year, he was recognized for his service to his kingdom and proclaimed a Lord by the King and Queen of the land.
In the summer of his 42nd year, Lord Alastar suffered an illness that cost him his right leg. Thankfully, through his family's connection to skilled local physicians, he is being restored to full movement and will once again be found taking up the sword.
After regaining his footing, Lord Alastar once again heard the call of the dueling arena and, through many trials that tested every bit of his martial prowess, was proclaimed a Duelist of the kingdom - to be called upon to defend her at a moment's notice.
It was on this day as well that, through his friendship with the eccentric French Baron Sauvage Le Brigand de Gestas, Alastar joined the Corsairs of the Free Company of the Heart and Flame - a rugged and skilled fighting unit who are well-acquainted with guerilla tactics and sewing all manor of chaos amongst their enemies.
