Lord Ramvoldus Kröll was born in Silesia in the | Lord Ramvoldus Kröll was born in Jihlava in the year 1315. His Father, Gebehart worked was a recordkeeper in the mint at Jihlava, His Mother Herlinde was from Silesia. Ramvoldus was taught to read and write by his father while working along side the minters. In search of fortune and to gain independence from their father, Ramvoldus and his Brother re-established themselves in Kutna Hora to work in the Royal mint of Prague. When Charles IV ascended to power in 1347, Ramvoldus relocated again to the city of Prague. In 1338, He met a beautiful lapidary artist named Kungund Benehonig. She was a painter with the Brotherhood of St. Luke. She introduced him to the flourishing artist communities in Prague. Under the restoration efforts of the current King of Bohemia, The pair found no shortage of lucrative work. They married in the early spring of 1345 and settled in the quarter of Nové Město.
