Memories
She adopted me. I'm not sure when it happened, but it happened. I was good friends with her husband Gautier who I also admired greatly. When I got married, my wife Fionguala got adopted too. My wife was a bit of an introvert but Caitlín wasn't going to let that get in the way. Caitlín, Marion MacCorkle, and my lady became partners and put on several events with feasts attached. Marion was an experienced overachiever who was always in charge of the feast and who made sure that it was plentiful, satisfying and delicious, and within budget. Caitlín made sure the event was fun. Caitlín wanted to make sure EVERYONE was going to have a good time whether they wanted one or not. Caitlín was also instrumental in putting the "silly" into Gallavally's St. Corrigan Games. She just had that kind of energy. They and their extended families also ran Whatknots Merchantile at Wars. Their specialty was affordable clothing and "specialty gifts" such as the Norman Love Kit (I'll leave that to your imagination, but it had to do with wooly hats and lanolin). But Caitlín's gift was that she could turn any gift into a story. At one point she bought a slew of glass drops which she renamed, "Dragon Tears." She created a story and meaning behind each color. People would buy them just to hear her stories. She even made an accompanying puppet named Eurassis Dragon. She was a special and irreplaceable lady. ~ Eadwynne
She helped my wife design her cloaks. And gave her pointers on how to sell stuff. I loved her humor openness and love for our fellow man. I can't remember being truly angry at anybody. She was a mom to us all. ~ Timothy Kyle
