| == The Path of The Heart ==
| |
|
| |
| There was a time, not long ago,
| |
|
| |
| When Caid’s hearts were tested.
| |
|
| |
| Dame Thea forged from molten glass
| |
|
| |
| Three Hearts, within invested
| |
|
| |
| Her hopes and wishes, thoughts and dreams
| |
|
| |
| Wisp light yet Iron strong.
| |
|
| |
| She then sought worthies of her min
| |
|
| |
| To pass her Hearts along.
| |
|
| |
| Each Heart was given earnestly,
| |
|
| |
| With this, Dame Thea’s behest;
| |
|
| |
| “Find those who make a difference,
| |
|
| |
| Now, do what you think best.”
| |
|
| |
| These words shall speak for this dear Heart
| |
|
| |
| A precious One of Three;
| |
|
| |
| Of how It came into my care,
| |
|
| |
| And who receives from me…
| |
|
| |
| The first to feel the weight of it,
| |
|
| |
| And know its cooling touch,
| |
|
| |
| Was tireless Mistress Catherine,
| |
|
| |
| Her choice would show us much.
| |
|
| |
| For she chose Honored Gwen Hir
| |
|
| |
| Slight of build yet strong of will.
| |
|
| |
| The Heart grew ever stronger, yet,
| |
|
| |
| Gwen’s pick showed e’en more skill.
| |
|
| |
| For Mistress Mary was the one
| |
|
| |
| To next embrace the Heart.
| |
|
| |
| The dexterous lady for us all
| |
|
| |
| Has played many a part.
| |
|
| |
| Most Excellent Eridana
| |
|
| |
| The Belle chimed next for her.
| |
|
| |
| The Namer to then be so named
| |
|
| |
| It caused a wonderous stir!
| |
|
| |
| She named Honored Don Avenel,
| |
|
| |
| Thought quick and razor keen,
| |
|
| |
| Indeed a nobler gentlemen
| |
|
| |
| There never has been seen.
| |
|
| |
| When Master Lot was next bestowed
| |
|
| |
| This fine Heart of Caid,
| |
|
| |
| It was with pride quite simply said
| |
|
| |
| He’s pure of thought and deed.
| |
|
| |
| Lot said he’d found a massive man
| |
|
| |
| To next entrust this gift
| |
|
| |
| ‘Twas then he gifted it to… me,
| |
|
| |
| The shock was real and swift!
| |
|
| |
| I’ve tried for years in Caid’s lands
| |
|
| |
| Its essence to invoke,
| |
|
| |
| Yet clumsily I’ve always felt
| |
|
| |
| As someone grasping smoke.
| |
|
| |
| But now my chance is here to choose
| |
|
| |
| A worthy I must name,
| |
|
| |
| So many gentles in Caid
| |
|
| |
| Are worthy of this fame.
| |
|
| |
| But I have found a true noble
| |
|
| |
| Who has sat Caidan Thrones
| |
|
| |
| Who launches into every task
| |
|
| |
| With grit down to their bones.
| |
|
| |
| This wearer of the Strawberry Leaves
| |
|
| |
| This Parent, Spouse and Peer
| |
|
| |
| Indeed I tell you honestly,
| |
|
| |
| We all are glad they’re here.
| |
|
| |
| So I bestow this precious Heart
| |
|
| |
| Upon you now to find
| |
|
| |
| Another such as you deem fit
| |
|
| |
| To gladden Soul and Mind.
| |
|
| |
| This burden I know you will take
| |
|
| |
| Its heft you shall not shirk
| |
|
| |
| And that is why this Heart now goes
| |
|
| |
| To Guy of Castle Kirk!
