Directions to the event: Take 99 freeway to Bakersfield, turn west on Olive Drive (north end of town), turn right onto Fruitvale Avenue, then right onto Norris Road, park is to your right, Look out for SCA signs.
Event description: The Shire of Wintermist is pleased to welcome all of our friends and honored guests to the 2013 Knewbie Knockabout and Rapier Tourney. We send out our challenge to all the new fighters who have been fighting for less than two years to attend our Knewbie Knockabout. This is the only event held specifically for new fighters in Caid, so come test your mettle against your peers! In addition to the Heavy Weapons Tourney, this year we will also be hosting a Rapier Tourney running concurrently with the Heavy Weapons Tournament. Rapier Fighters will be limited as a "Bridesmaid Tourney." That is, they may not have previously won a Baronial Rapier Championship or any other significant rapier tourney, such as Queen's Champion or the Rapier Open. On their Honor, entrants will self certify to the requirement. There will also be a Pavilion contest, as well as A & S demonstrations throughout the day.
We are having three consecutive tourney's:
1. Knewbie Knockabout 2. Rapier “Bridesmaid” Tourney Bridesmaid Tourney means participants may not have won a significant Rapier Tourney (Baronial Rapier Championship, Queens Champion, Rapier Open, etc) On their Honor, entrants will self certify to the requirement. and the 3. Greybeard Grudge (New!) An opportunity for the veteran SCA fighters to get together and knock a few heads. Why just let the greenhorns have all the fun, eh?

Adults $5, non-member $10, children 12-17 $2, children 11 and under guests of the Shire.
