For those local SCA members who have been around long enough to remember her, I am sad to relate that Jessica Llyrindi of Northmarch died this morning of metastic breast cancer.
For those who didn't know her,  Jessica was a very active member of the SCA back in Caid's early days, and she was the first Baroness of Isles (when Isles was still a barony, and was the "I" in the letters that made up the name of the Kingdom of Caid-- C for Califia, A for Angels, I for Isles, and D for Dreiburgen) for some time.
Jessica had been battling cancer for some time, but was still participating as much as she was able in the Southern California costuming guild we both belonged to.
She will be missed.

My Lords and Ladies,

It is my sad duty to inform you of the departure of Baroness Jessica Lyrindi of Northmarch from this mortal plane this morning. She killed the cancer that sought to control her body by removing her immortal soul from that body, leaving the cancer to die.  A double kill is always an honorable end to combat, and she will always be remembered by her friends as an extraordinary Lady.

We will meet her again when our souls are like clouds, sailing on the wind.

Death

Baroness Jessica passed away on 3/1/2011.

From Sarah Telyn

From Robear du Bois

My Lords and Ladies,

It is my sad duty to inform you of the departure of Baroness Jessica Lyrindi of Northmarch from this mortal plane this morning. She killed the cancer that sought to control her body by removing her immortal soul from that body, leaving the cancer to die. A double kill is always an honorable end to combat, and she will always be remembered by her friends as an extraordinary Lady.

We will meet her again when our souls are like clouds, sailing on the wind.

--Sir Robear du Bois
