Memories

Prior to the evening's activities there were classes in various subjects by local teachers. The entertainment headliner was professional period puppeteer, Robin D'Arc who produced a Period-Inspired stage play called "Goupil," based upon the stories of Reynard the Fox, a literary cycle of medieval allegorical Dutch, English, French and German fables from the second half of the 12th century, popular throughout the Late Middle Ages the Early Modern period. We had the entire Barony participating at some level. We were able to recruit people from each of the Cantons to do some kind of between-course entertainments. I especially remember Ulfblod Berserkr doing the Boar's Head Presentation based upon period tradition and done in a manner that only Ulf and his crew could do. The cooks under Marion MacCorkle provided amazing food and still came out under budget. Seosaidh MacFaoilchéire and the Clann MacFaoilchéire had been recruited to act as servers and did a heroic effort. ~Eadwynne of Runedun
