Gentles and connoisseurs all, House Drachenstern of Dreiburgen extenda an open invitation to this year’s Baroness’ Banquet and Christmas Revel on the 9th of December.
The banquet will consist of several courses of Drench cuisine, including a variety of spectacular desserts. Following the banquet there will be a revel during which sll contest and entertainments will occur.
Contests thus far include:
- Best Period French Costume
- Best French joke (historical, hysterical, or what have you)
- Best SCA-style stocking stuffer
- Best SCA-style X-mas car 1
- Best Christmas Wreath
- Best Flexed Biceps (judged exclusively by our saintly and illustrious the Baroness)
- and several others to be announced at the revel.
In keeping with the yuletide spirit, a gift exchange (with a $5 limit) will be held at the revel. Gufts to be distributed by Dreiburgen own Farther Christmas & his faithful elf-in-waiting, Lord Timothy.
The cost of the banquet (as last year) will be $7.50. Smalls only pay $3.75. Please send reservations in early, with the names of those in your party, and a return address or telephone number. The deadline for banquet reservations will be November 30th.
The event will be heald at the Rubidoux Grange Hall (same as last year).
schedule of events is as follows:
- 4:00 Hall opens for all
- 4:30 Opening court
- 5:00 Banquet followed by revel
- 11:30 Revel ends
- 12:00 Hall closes
This is certain to prove a most festive evening of fun and revelry. We hope to see you there!

The typing errors in the Crown Prints were the source of most of the jokes that evening, mostly people were wondering what “Drench cuisine” was.
