Just joined the Wiki. This is Martin Monteyro do Monte / Eb De Witt (Editor Valdis' Husband), she told me that per a note from Kolfinna had posted that Wiki members would have editing/uploading permission for a trial period of 3 months.

I was going to upload a file but do not have permission, also I do not have edit links appearing. Does my account need to be changed to allow me to make edits?

Any assistance that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Question on name rules and page links

I created a populace page for Fearghus but he uses a different name than is listed in the Ordinary. I created the Wiki page under Fearghus the Elder which is how his name is registered in the Ordinary. He goes by Fearghus mac Lochloinn the Elder, which is how I listed him on the Mons Draconis page. (Note the link appears as his preferred name but links to the page under the registered name).

Valdis noted that the preference may be to create a page under Fearghus mac Lochloinn the Elder that redirects to Fearghus the Elder - Which would be the preferred method? --Martinsca 02:09, 7 November 2008 (PST)

  • The actual page with all the content on it must be his registered name. If you want to do a redirect page for the other name, that is fine, but you should make all links in his registered name not his preferred name. Just put his preferred name on his content page. If we don't use the registered name throughout the wiki for every person, we'll go crazy! Thanks for asking! --Kolfinna 09:31, 7 November 2008 (PST)
