THL Tomaso da Barbiano.
Persona
Tomaso was born in the year 1380 in a small town in the Romagna (central Italy) to an Italian father and a Swiss mother. He makes his living by following the family tradition as a condottierre, or professional soldier for hire.
His primary contract is with Venice, within whose territory he has a modest estate. In peaceful times he makes beer and wine from his land, and life is good. Italy is a troubled land though, and he must spend much of his time in armor, traveling where fortune takes him.
He is husband to Catharine Hawkwod da Barbiano, who is the daughter of an English condottiere working in Italy.She is a paternoster-maker and storyteller who travels throughout Italy with her husband.
