Canton to Shire

Currently, the article says that Al-Sahid went from being a canton to a shire in 1991, but the branch name wasn't changed from a canton to a shire until 2005. This seems a little unlikely. Anyone know what happened? Eldwin Nightowl 20:38, 11 December 2008 (PST)

  • A branch's registered name in the SCA Armorial does not automatically change its branch designator (Canton, Shire, etc) based on a legal change in status. In 2004-5, the shire requested that change, based on some proof that the change had happened previously, and the College of Arms agreed.--Lachlan 22:21, 11 December 2008 (PST)
