Lord Ramvoldus Kröll was born in Jihlava in the year 1315. His Father, Gebehart worked was a recordkeeper in the mint while His Mother, Herlinde hailed from Silesia. Ramvoldus was taught to read and write by his father while working in the mint. Seeking fortune and glory, Ramvoldus eventually relocated to Kutna Hora and found work in the Royal mint of Prague. Upon Charles IV ascension to power in 1347, Ramvoldus answered the call for regional artisans and tradesmen by relocating again to the city of Prague. In 1338, He met a beautiful lapidary artist named Kungund Benehonig. As an associate of the Brotherhood of St. Luke, Kungund introduced him to the flourishing artisan communities in Prague. With massive restoration efforts underway throughout the city, The pair found no shortage of lucrative work. By the spring of 1345, the two had accumulated enough wealth to settle in the quarter of Nové Město. They were married shortly after, and had two children, Volmar and Ottilie.
