St Corrigan Feast Gallavally

September 22-23, 2001

St Corrigan is lost deep inside darkest Pictavia (or eastern Scotland as we call it today). You are hereby invited to a day and evening of unique fighting adventure, awesome A&S challenges, delicious feasting, and revelry in the stunning San Jacinto Mountains adjacent to lovely “Loch” Fulmor. It’s the 20th of may in the year 685, and the Northumbrians are on the move. King Ecgfrith, a skilled and seasoned campaigner, is marching his troups into Angus, the very heartland of Pictish Territory, to do battle with the Picts and their King Bruide. Scottish history tells us that the Northumbrians, even with superior number and armament, were defeated by Dunnichen. The course of Scottish History was now.

Set Now you get a chance to change that history in several open field melee battles (heavy and Lights), including a forest hill fort battle and a broch (castle) battle. A special combat archery scenario will be included on the hill fort battlefield. For the non-fighters there will be a cutthroat arts and science contest for adults, as well as activities for children.

The site is the beautiful University of California James Reserve, a wilderness preserve and biological research station. Parking is extremely limited and we will strongly encourage ypur local Shires, Cantons and Baronies to organize car-pooling in advance. This is a wet site, and we can provide chrash space (a 30 bed indoor dormitory and tent camping for an additional 15 gentles)

A four remove feast is being offered for 30 adults and a separate “kid’s meal” for 10 children, on a reservation only, first come first serve basis.

Schedule for the Day:

  • 8:30 am-10:00 am – Setup
  • 9:00 am – List open
  • 10:30 am – opening court. List close 10 minutes after court
  • 11:30 am – tournament and arts contests begin
  • 4:00 pm – Closing court
  • 6:00 pm – feast begins
  • 8:00 pm – bonfire is lit

Sunday

  • 8:00 am – Breakfast (on your own, hot water will be provided)
  • 10:00 am – Clean-up
  • 12:00 noon – site closes
