Event description:

In 1415, King Henry V and his band of brothers won a decisive victory in the Hundred Years’ War at the rolling fields of Agincourt. Come celebrate, once again, the victory of the humble English longbow over the pride of French chivalry.

The Barony of Altavia invites you to join us on October 27, 2013 at Woodley Park archery range as we celebrate the 598th anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt.

Altavia's Archery and Thrown Weapons champions (adult and youth) will be decided from the day's competitors. The archery champion will be decided by a Forester round. There will also be a novelty shoot, a crossbow shoot, and we hope to have a clout shoot, as well.

Young archers and throwers of Caid are welcome. They may participate if they have passed the proper authorizations and meet the following requirements:

Persons 14 through 17 years of age must have a properly executed minor's waver and medical authorization form on their person; a parent or legal guardian must sign them into the thrown weapons competition.

Persons under 14 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian in attendance with them at the event.

Our Youth champion categories are: Youth Archery 10 and under, Youth Archery 11 and up, and Youth Thrown Weapons (all ages).

Contests: Do you like fun? Do you like competing? There will be several contests throughout the day for the populace to take part in! Please check the event’s Facebook page and the Kingdom Calendar for more details as the event approaches.

Fiber Play Day: Come sit under the trees, watch the competition, play with fibers, work on unfinished projects, and maybe learn a new hobby.

Greetings.

Altavia's Agincourt Archery Tournament was Great!

The weather was Great!

The shooting was Great!

The Chivalry was Great!

IT WAS A GREAT DAY!!!

Over 40 Archers participated throughout the day.

We had a great yeoman demo of armor piercing arrows.

The clout shoot, three ends of six arrows shot at 100 yards. Esmeralda came in second with 50 And Winfred of Heatherwine, shooting for Lyondemere, won with a 55.

The novelty shoot was won by Robert McFarland of Calafia with a score of 135 Esmeralda came in second with 103 points.

The Forester rounds were exceptionally exciting.

Altavia's youth champion is Tara of Cathess age 10. Nicholi Staghorn came in Second age 8.

The Crossbow champion is Winfred of Heatherwine, shooting for Lyondemere. Countess Jane, recently of Isles, came in a very close second. The Countess came in the finals undefeated and Winfred had to defeat her twice. Very impressive shooting from them both! Finally,

Altavia's new Agincourt Champion is Bridgid ni Murine of Calafia! Bruce the Archer, at his first tournament. Came in second!

That's the news from Agincourt.
