Founded: Modern Location: Western Kern County, California

The Shire of Wintermist^RRE covers western Kern County, CA, most notably Bakersfield, Edwards Air Force Base, China Lake NAWS, and parts of the Los Padres and Sequoia National Parks. The name refers to the thick fog that envelopes the area in the wintertime. The Shire's newsletter is Tales from the Mist.

The Shire of Wintermist is host to Caid's annual Great Western War, held in October.

History

The Shire's name was registered in September 1988. In addition to its device, there are several badges registered to the Shire:

• Purpure, a lyre and a bordure invected Or.
• (Fieldless) A snowflake gules.
• Or, six swords, three and three, points to center gules.
• Argent, a gillyflower within a bordure invected gules (for the Company of the Gillyflower)
