On May 19 and 20, either for war or war maneuvers, the armies of the West and of Caid will meet for the fourth time on the battlefield at El Chorro Regional Park in Tarnmist (San Luis Obispo) to demonstrate their valor and prowess at arms.
A variety of battle scenarios is being planned. This includes combat archery, so don't forget the screening for your helms.
The competitions scheduled are: Embroider; Decorated leather items; and Hand-made daggers.
Site rules are as follows: 1) All dogs must be on a leash. 2) All small children (age seven and under) must be with a person aged fourteen or older AT ALL TIMES. There is a stream on the site and it will be fairly full at this time of year. 3) No horses. 4) No open fires. However, there are many barbecue pits on site. Bring your own firewood or charcoal as there is none available in the park.
Unloading may begin at 5pm on Friday, May 18. The site fee is $1 per vehicle plus $3 per tent.
