Hi! - while updating canton/ college pages here, I came across the best explanation I've seen about the (almost total lack of) Caidan sumptuary laws about headgear - it is on the Darach site, at http://www.darachshire.org/faqs.cfm?faq=circlets It looks like a good thing to include here. I presume one should ask Eilidh Swann, the writer, and Darach, the hoster, about linking to it - or do you want to see if it could be copied here? I'm not sure how you are handling good stuff like that. If you link to it, it might go away... and this counter-acts some of the out-Kingdom customs I've seen listed as Caidan customs that sometimes comes out of the chatelaine's office. By the way, I tried to edit the discussion tab, but it wouldn't let me. --EowynA 10:17, 9 May 2008 (PDT)

  • I'm completely okay with my Circlets article ending up on the wiki --Eilidh Swann 17:50, 11 June 2008 (PDT)

Where should we create and maintain a list of the Bards of Caid, and then the territorial Bards and their history? --Eilidh Swann 17:46, 11 June 2008 (PDT)

I have no idea how to actually start a new page (for the Bard of Caid)... do I have those kind of security rights? I can see what the template code is, but I don't seem to have the wiki link for "create a new page" around anywhere.

I'd use whatever you're doing for Champions --> it's a lot like the QC Rapier Champion, etc., but just a one-year term instead of a reign... which would make it like the Caidan Rapier Open Champion.

I also don't know how to create the circle article. If you port it in, I'll look and see how you did it, for future articles. --Eilidh Swann 18:08, 12 June 2008 (PDT)

So, how would you do the Territorial Bards? All on one page? As a list somewhere? Off the geographical branches? I know there's the Sherwood Bard for Angels, the Lyon Bard for Lyondemere, a brand new Darachshire Bard, a Bard of Dun Or, a brand new Bard of Altavia, and a Bard of Gyldenholt, so far.--Eilidh Swann 18:17, 12 June 2008 (PDT)

  • Did you catch that I put commentary regarding various misspellings, etc. in the Populace _article_? --Lachlan 15:05, 19 June 2008 (PDT)
  • Some ideas in Help talk:Rules. --Lachlan 12:36, 23 June 2008 (PDT)
  • Thanks - clearly, just when I think I've got this figured out, I find another, more creative way to do things wrong! :-) --EowynA 13:06, 24 June 2008 (PDT)
  • I found that new Populace page last night -- thank you, thank you! First one I looked up was Courtney, because I could not remember her registered first name (and it is hard to look up without it!) I notice it took you all of 2 minutes to notice the new page and fix things up. You're sharp!--EowynA 11:14, 25 June 2008 (PDT)
  • Thanks for documenting Bruce's agreement. I thought it was cute using me for the example, but being the contrarian that I am, in fact the artwork you point to is part mine, not wholly his (I drew the arms; he drew the shield and mantling). I think I'm the only person to draw her own arms (and I note that now I need to change it, too).--EowynA 16:15, 25 June 2008 (PDT)

I worked on Iron Brigade and noticed that Legio IX Hispana is listed on the page but not the website. I have no idea which page is correct. Also, didn't know if there was anything else that needed to be done on this page or not so I left the fix code as is till you have a moment to check it. --Valdis 18:17, 27 June 2008 (PDT)

  • Okay--Valdis 18:33, 27 June 2008 (PDT), I just added to the list instead of deleting items already on the list. Do I need to remove the Fix code?
  • Kolfinna, I was just looking at the Roses page (beautiful!) and thought I'd see Carol of Bellatrix under imported Duchy. Did she specifically opt out of being listed, or move? I thought she lived up in your neck of the woods.--EowynA 20:21, 15 September 2008 (PDT)

Commentary Wanted

Change to how User Groups Work

Great news! The Kingdom Webwright has given us a 3 month window to test to see how it would work if all users had edit abilities. So all users have been added to the "Commenters" group which allows you to edit live pages and upload photos. Jump right in and start adding new pages and editing old ones! If you need help on how to edit the wiki, visit Help:Contents. If I don't know who you are (i.e. I need to match your SCA name to your wiki account) you will not be added to the commenters group. This is rare, only a few of you I haven't been able to place. Email me at wiki@caid-commons.org if you need further help. --Kolfinna 13:39, 20 August 2008 (PDT)

Imported? Goods are imported. People are immigrants. Just a thought...--Lachlan 14:57, 19 September 2008 (PDT)
