Hmm... When I rewrote that section, I tried to avoid saying anything so firm as you put it. It certainly isn't true that "...it is a practice that [is] no longer followed..." I see it done all the time (even here). And who's to say it shouldn't be done? Perhaps the heralds. They are the ones who tell everyone how they can and cannot spell names. I hinted at that by explaining that the name isn't registered in all caps. :) --[[User:Lachlan|Lachlan]] 15:59, 7 January 2009 (PST)

Pentathlon page changes ...
I LOVE your redo of the main pentathlon page, splitting it into general info and 2009 info is perfect. I didn't like the way it had turned out, but was still trying to figure out how to make it better. THANKS!
I'll check with Madelena on Myth vs Mythe ... she purposely spelled that way, I assume for a Medieval feel. I prefer it as Myth myself, especially on the page title where no one would think to spell it Mythe. I'll see if she can live with it that way.
As always, thanks for the edits!

Imported? Goods are imported. People are immigrants. Just a thought...--Lachlan 14:57, 19 September 2008 (PDT)

  • Can you check out my recent edit to White Scarf. Why does the title "Scribe's Handbook" not appear properly on the link?--Lachlan 21:42, 23 September 2008 (PDT)
  • Hi. Looking at the new populace template. The addition of the two-line sentence about the OP seems to me to separate the picture from the heraldry too much. What do you think about putting the entire "information" section at the top or at the bottom of the template?--Lachlan 09:55, 30 September 2008 (PDT)
  • I like it best with all the info on the bottom. Is that just my herald-o-centric view? I agree, though, that we should probably go ahead and drop "The Wiki does not recreate the OP". I know that's mostly there to discourage people from adding and "Awards" heading and listing them all... Do you think that removing the admonition will create a lot of that sort of thing?--Lachlan 11:29, 30 September 2008 (PDT)
  • Good grief! The court/guard page is one TON of work, eh?--Lachlan 17:26, 1 October 2008 (PDT)
  • I am diggin' the two-picture, formal-versus-action format you're using for the Chivalry... I'm thinking we might need that for rapier fighters too... :) --Lachlan 21:47, 1 November 2008 (PDT)
  • I'm thinking about publishing a copy of this month's CP cover. I notice that, on big images, there is a "preview size" and link to full-resolution image. What sets the preview size? Does it automatically select maximum dimensions?--Lachlan 11:15, 11 November 2008 (PST)
  • Thanks for fixing my table. That was driving me crazy.--Lachlan 16:00, 12 November 2008 (PST)

Golden Lance from Eowyn

Hi! I just saw the proposed design for the Order of the Golden Lance (great idea, BTW) - the badge has clearly been "Caidanized" by adding the embattled bordure. If it is not too late in the process, I suggest that the embattlements be turned slightly, so that the lance is not shown going from battlement to battlement (which makes it look like the long thin gold thing is joining them), but rather that the lance goes from merlon to merlon, which provides some blue space around the gold object. I also suggest that the lance be drawn a bit thicker, even though that wreaks havoc with the proportions. That makes it easier to figure out what the long thin thing is, from a distance of greater than a few inches. These are just suggestions to make the badge more legible.--EowynA 11:18, 17 November 2008 (PST)

Rotating the embattlement does not require a heraldry change. It is just artistic. I'll see what I can find on a more distinct lance (probably in a heraldry book, actually), and scan it and make a vector drawing. --EowynA 13:22, 17 November 2008 (PST)

May I borrow your photo

I just updated the Cunnan Wiki entry on Caid to reflect Your Majesty and King Sven as current Rulers of Caid. (I also updated your personal pages there.) But the photo for your current reign is the same as your previous one. May I post the image of Your Majesties found here to that site? Eldwin Nightowl 22:25, 11 December 2008 (PST)
