fallen in Fall Crown Tourney A.S. XLIII

Turn your head away

Darling, my heart, turn your head away
For I come to you on bended knee
My love, I have failed today
To win you, the earth, the sky, the sea

It is said that love conquers all
Like your smile has conquered me
I fought well, and some did fall
Alas the world, I cannot give thee

It was a killing frost
My first foe, the very Wynter
Two blades did exact a cost
One left, where both had entered

La Muerta, Lady Death,
Did hear of my inspiration
We fought to a single breath
But I felt no trepidation

Deadly though this Lady was,
My heart grew ever stronger
Angels wept to hear my cause
And I was alive, a moment longer

Thus I defeated the Wynter
and Death had stayed her hand
Now who the Eric should enter?
A Knight and a Gentleman

Sir Mons did win against me
Twas a good fight and very just
But for a moment I saw thee
Your beauty beat parry or thrust

I shook my head most vigorous
And took my swords to hand
I found yet another battle
With a fierce yet gentle man

Sir Dietrich, styled the Poet
Twas no war of words this day
Not luck, but his skill, I know it
His power, to write, or slay

My sorrow cannot be disguised
My lovely rose, beyond compare
Only you can raise my eyes
For my heart, it does not dare
