Greetings unto the Artisans of the Kingdom of Caid!
We proudly announce that due to the overwhelming response from this great Kingdom’s artisans we are moving this event to a NEW SITE!! Our new host site is Mulholland Middle School, 17120 Vanowen, Lake Balboa, CA 91406.

Believe it or not, the Caid Arts and Sciences Faire and Pentathlon is a mere 3 months away!!! It will be held April 25 and 26th, 2009 in the Fair Barony of Altavia! Look for exact site location and further event information in next month’s CP! This event is the Premier Showcase for the practitioners of any art form of this Kingdom. If you practice an art this is your moment to shine! It doesn’t matter whether you are an Apprentice or a Master or Mistress or your given craft, what is important is that you have talent and knowledge that is valuable and you should share it!
If you have entered either the Arts and Sciences Faire or Pentathlon itself, please note as stated under General Rules for the Arts and Science Faire and Pentathlon:

The most important thing to keep in mind is that the deadline for registering to participate in the Arts and Sciences Fair and Pentathlon Competition is SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2009. This does not mean your entries are due by then, just the Pre-Registration form telling us what you plan on enteringThis means if you are mailing in your Pre-Registration form and entry fees, it must be postmarked no later than SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2009. If you wish to turn it in person, please note that Mistress Bridget Lucia MacKenzie and I will be accepting entry preregistration forms at Gyldenholt Unbelted 01/24/09 and Mistress Bridget Lucia MacKenzie and Mistress Lynette de Sandoval del Valle de los Unicornios will be accepting entry pre-registration at Festival of the Rose on February 7, 2009 in the Barony of Dun OrAmazing how that deadline has crept up on everyone huh??? Again, the Entry Pre-Registration form and entry fees must either be postmarked or physically in our evil clutches no later than SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2009.
1All entrants must be checked in, with their entries, by 9:00 AM on SaturdayThis includes performance entrants. Late entries cannot be accepted.

I invite anyone who practices any type of a craft to submit an entry for the Caid Arts and Sciences FairYou do not have to enter the Pentathlon Competition to submit an entryHowever, if you wish to vie for the privilege of being Caid’s first ever Arts and Sciences Champion, then we welcome you to enter the Pentathlon portion of the competition.
2Unless approved by the Autocrat prior to the event, only the entrant is allowed to set up their displaysHelpers are strongly encouraged for anyone who has multiple entries to set up. You will only be allowed between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. to set up your entries. Please plan accordingly!

CraftsmanVillage – Bring your Arts & Sciences tools and materials, and demonstrate them in our demo village. We are providing this arts demo for the new College of St. Fermin at Cal State Northridge to share our knowledge with the general public and with each other! This is also a chance to see the talented craftspeople of Caid at work, learn a new technique in your own craft, get some work done on those unfinished projects and visit with those who share your interest in the Arts & Sciences! We would like a Spinning Wheel Circle, Forges, Cooking demonstrations, Weavers, Embroiderers, Leatherworkers, Calligraphers, Illuminators, Metalworkers, bubbling Dye pots, Woodworkers, and more! Please contact us as noted above for further information or myself via email at [mailto://CaidPentathlon@gmail.com CaidPentathlon@gmail.com].
::To register Helpers: Send the event steward a list of their names at pentathlon@sca-caid.org or CaidPentathlon@gmail.com. Your helpers will not be allowed into the judging areas until they have signed in at gate, so make sure they arrive in time to make it through gate by 9am.

The point is to share your talent and knowledge with the populace of this KingdomWho knows who you will inspire!
3Performers must check in at their performance location at least 15 minutes before their scheduled performance.

Again, mark your calendars….the entry submission deadline for the 2009 Caid Arts and Sciences Fair and Pentathlon is SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2009.
