Highlights

From the Crown Prints

Join us in the temperate shores of Lyondemere as Their Royal Highnesses Adam and Stæina ascend to the throne of Caid!

We welcome one and all to celebrate and share the many customs of your winter holiday season with the entire Kingdom. Whether you pass the wassail cup, decorate your palace with pine boughs and holly, or give small trinkets to your friends, we encourage you to also join in the festivities of 12th Night. There will be entertainment, a magnificent feast, the Dirty Dozen Largesse display, and the opportunity to show off your finery and catch up with friends.

To help support the local community we will be holding a canned food and grocery gift certificate drive. The Elks Lodge works with their community year-round and we would love to show them our Caidan hospitality by helping with this endeavor. Canned foods or Ralph’s gift certificates are on their wish list.

Site: Gardena Elks Lodge, 1735 W 162nd St, Gardena, CA 90247. This is a wet site with a cash bar after 2:00pm. No pets or open flame candles, please. There is ample parking behind the lodge and across the street.

Schedule: Site Opens: 8:00am Opening Court: 10:00am Feast: 6:00pm Site Closes: 9:00pm

Lunch There will also be a donation lunch available. Lunch will include warm pasties, cheese, fruit, and a sweet treat.

Merchants Merchants are welcome at this event! We must limit merchant space to four 10x10-foot spots, and those will be just outside the back main entrance.

Dirty Dozen Donation Derby Their Highnesses Adam and Stæina have expressed a desire to showcase the artisans of Caid throughout their reign with handmade gifts of largess created by the populace. Thus, with the gracious permission of Their Highnesses, we are pleased to sponsor a Dirty Dozen Donation Derby (aka 4D) at Coronation/Twelfth Night.

The basic rules for the Dirty Dozen Donation Derby are as follows: All entrants should create 12 items based on a theme that are suitable for largess, for example: - 12 needle books - 12 hats from different (or the same) period(s) - 12 items suitable for a specific time period - 12 children’s toys NOTE: items that traditionally are used in pairs should include twelve pairs, so 12 socks would not be suitable as that is only 6 pairs. • All entries should be tagged with the maker’s name, and be ready to be gifted the day of the competition. • Items do not need to be documentable; as this is not an Arts and Sciences competition. • Items should not have heraldry on them as they are meant to be gifted to other areas. • Judging will be done by the populace in the following manner: Each entrant display will have a cup placed next to it. During the event anyone may put a provided token into the cup accompanying their choice.

Once voting closes and all votes have been tallied, the entrant with the most tokens in their cup gets first choice of one item from any of the entries as a prize.

Each subsequent entrant then chooses from the remaining entries in order, according to the popular vote.

Each entry may only be chosen once as a prize. The remaining 11 items from each entry will be given to Their Highnesses, Adam and Staeina, at the end of the day for use as largess during Their Reign.

We look forward to showcasing the works of Caid’s artisans at Coronation/Twelfth Night.
