Founded: about 1972 Modern Location: Santa Barbara area, California

Overview

Meaning: There are several small islands off the shores of Santa Barbara.

History: Founded originally by Uillem Thorken Hardhans. Uillem was declared "Baron designate", 01/08/1972, but his candidacy was denied by the King and Queen of the West. At that time, the barony was attached to Angels as the dual Barony of Angels and Isles, until Jessica Llyrindi of Northmarch became Baroness, 12/31/1972. When she stepped down in 1979, the area became a shire.

Area: Santa Barbara and (originally) Ventura counties. Currently just Santa Barbara county.

Blazon: Barry wavy argent and azure, a tower within a laurel wreath gules.

Heraldic officer's title: Red Tower.

Awards: Crimson Tower (no longer a baronial-level award, but can still be given by current Kings and Queens for outstanding and consistent service to the Shire).
