Occasional Roll of Summer Crown 2008 (AS43) by Lachlan of Cromarty (© Ian McIntosh). This illustration was used for the November 2008 cover of The Crown Prints.
I modeled this illustration after the so-called Zurich Roll (ca. 1340), Strip 1, though I adjusted the formatting to satisfy SCA symbolism, ranks, etc. The pairs of combatants and consorts are arranged firstly by rank, with chivalry in the top three rows, and unbelted fighters in the bottom two rows. They are ordered secondarily based on number of rounds each fighter entered. Arms appear twice in the cases where a couple fought each for the other.
