Lord Dubhghall joined the Society through the Barony of Dreiburgen in AS 44 (2010) just before May Day. He enjoys court and book heraldry (especially device research and design), several fiber arts (knitting, tailoring, inkle, card and cord weaving), and is also interested in the scribal and bardic arts. He has created several heraldic images for use on the Caid Wiki. He ended his membership in AS 48 (2014).

While active, he lived in the Barony of Lyondemere, with his partner, Balthazar van der Brugghe, (and occasionally his daughters, Sakurai no Mitsuko and Máirghréad inghean Dubhghaill mhic Aodha).

Persona

Dubhghall was born in Làthair Ròin (modernly Latheron), a small coastal village in Gallaibh (Caithness, northern Scotland), in 1471. He is the youngest of five sons and nine children; his mother was from the crofters (farmers) and his father was a fisherman. As the youngest (and somewhat expendable) son, he was considered suitable for the Church, and trained to become a priest by learning to read and write. However, his father drowned in a sudden squall while trying to force Dubhghall to get over his fear of sailing, and Dubhghall's family blamed him for it. He was disowned and forced to leave in disgrace.

He is a wandering scribe, herald and bard in the lower Scottish and northern English territories, and makes his living carrying tales and messages from one place to another, drawing on his previous priesthood training.
