Secretaries of the College of Heralds handle paperwork, files and submission fees or take minutes at CoH meetings. Typically one secretary handles the paperwork, and two secretaries type the rough minutes drafts. This allows Crescent Principal Herald to move quickly through submissions and still have decisions recorded thoroughly.

As secretary is an ad-hoc position, dozens of individuals have filled the role over the years. While their names are not necessarily recorded and impossible to list here, their contribution is essential, appreciated, and earns them valuable experience in the workings of the College of Heralds and College of Arms.
