The Chirurgeon is in charge of first aid at events, and contacting medical professionals if required.
On July 11th, 2015, the SCA Board of Directors announced that the office of the Chirurgeonate would be closed on August 10th, 2015. Volunteers who wish to continue to administer first aid can still organize under the Chirurgeon's Guild or independently.
