Highlights

From the Crown Prints

The Kingdom of Caid invites one and all to come celebrate our 40th anniversary and coronation.

In an effort to allow time for all of you to participate in all of the events and festivities, coronation will span both Saturday and Sunday. Court is planned for 10:00am to 1:00pm on both days. A full schedule will be made available prior to the event.

Not only will we celebrate the peaceful transition of our Sovereigns, we will do so surrounded by the history of our Kingdom. We invite all territories to display the history of their group. This will be laid out in the original 4 founding baronies: Calafia, Angels, Isles, and Dreiburgen. Space will be allotted in the original territories for those areas which sprung from the original four.

We have some wonderful activities planned for this event. Not only do we have coronation, we have the history hall, a period cooking demo, a day board competition, artisan village, fighting, archery, and more!

This event will be from June 21st to June 25th, and be located in the Shire of al-Sahid. Camping will be available for those that wish to do so as well as plenty of local accommodations for those wishing to stay in a hotel. Dry RV camping is welcome. However, please RSVP prior to arrival so we can ensure you’ll have a space.

Sites: Schmidt Park for outdoor activities. 13576 Mustang St, Victorville, CA 92394

Westwinds Activity Center for the indoor activities. 18241 George Blvd, Victorville, CA 92394

Registration information: As a thank you to those that have helped create this wonderful Kingdom, this is a free event. Any donations will of course graciously be accepted.\

Site opens at 10:00am on Thursday June 21st, and closes at 3:00pm on Monday June 25th.

Memories

Memorial Hall Thank Yous from Arianna Foxford

Thank you to my sister, Lady Emma Cardiganshire, who was the first person I reached out to to help me with this undertaking, and who stepped in to help without a moment’s hesitation. She was the organized person who handled most of the incoming emails and tracked down names, alternate names and various spellings. She later helped watch over the Hall during the weekend, making sure things were safe and tissues were supplied. Thank you to Baroness Illuminada Eugenia de Guadalupe y Godoy who stepped up to volunteer, who was able to hunt down pictures and devices where I had long given up. (She pulled off a few miracles in finding some of them!) Illuminada also helped on Friday for the 9 hours it took for set up, and then helped watch over the Hall many times over the weekend.

Thank you to tHL Katerina Magdalena Stoianovna, Duchess Eilidh na Tire Dharigh and Mistress Fia Naheed, who came in to watch over the Hall on Saturday, giving me and Ian a much needed break. I was able to have a few hours to relax, knowing the Hall was in much capable hands! Thank you to Master Christian de Guerre, who wrangled the whole site, who kept checking in on us, and was ready on hand for any issues or problems.

Thank you to Baroness Catharine Hawkwod who organized the Whole Thing, from the Main History Hall, to the side History Hall, and everything else in the building. She was ready backup and advice for the whole time we were putting this together, and I think she probably sat down for a total of ten minutes the whole weekend. A HUGE Thank You! To Lady Cassondra Gyllinstein, who was Back Up, which is NO SMALL THING. This lady made sure we had drinks and snacks, had supplies, got us breakfast, sent in volunteers, and helped keep everything organized. Like Gandalf riding over the ridge at Helms Deep, she was a bright light for all of us working in the History Hall and Memorial Display.

Many, many, MANY thanks to EVERYONE who emailed in names. From long lists down to a single name, it is thanks to you that we had all of these people up there so that they could be remembered and also still be a part of the Caid 40 Year Anniversary. And thank you AGAIN to people who did their best to hunt down pictures and devices when we posted asking for help in tracking this down.

You All make sure of this: Caid Remembers.

And last, but far from least- a thank you to Lord Anthony de la Mare. I never asked, never assumed, but he stepped right in to help with the set up and for watching over the Hall. He made sure I drank and ate, and also that I took some time (even if it was just a few minutes) to take a break.

Thank you all, again.
