Master Aldred von Lechsend aus Froschheim was elevated to the Order of the Pelican on 11/19/1988 by TRM Brion and Alysandra.

Persona

Aldred was born in the Keep at Lechsend where the Lech river flows into the Danau River. He was the third son, so with two very healthy and active brothers, to inherit the family holdings, and a father who was aging very well indeed, he decided to seek fortune and renown in the wars of the Holy Roman Emperor to subdue Italy and Sicily. During the fighting in Sicily, he was very lucky that he fought extremely well while under the eye of the Emperor and was granted lands in fee in the southern central coastal area of Sicily. A land of great swamps and waterlands, teeming with frogs. This estate he named Froschheim ("home of frogs" in his native southern German language).

From From: John Fulton, President of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc.

To: Participants of the Society Re: President’s Board Report, November 6, 2022.

Renaming of the Society Archive Collection In recognition of his more than two decades of faithful work for the SCA as its Archivist/Librarian, the Board has renamed the Society Archive Collection to The Master Aldred von Lechsend aus Froschheim Archive Collection in honor of Charles “C.T.” Alderson.

I also want to recognize the incredible job Charles Alderson (Master Aldred von Lechsend aus Froschheim) has done as the Society’s Librarian and Archivist. “CT” as he is known has held safely the Archives of the Society for the last 20 years at his home in California. CT is in the process of turning the office over and for two decades he has protected, grown, and sorted a vast array of newsletters, handbooks. TI’s, CA’s, rule sets, and other material the SCA has produced over the last 55 plus years. He charged no storage fee. He just held close our past and made sure it was available when needed. I have requested the Board name the Archives after him.
