In 2002, a friend took me to a fighter practice in Phoenix, AZ. I was introduced to Dante McGavin and his house the Ship Persephone. I have been a part of the Society of Creative Anachronism ever since. Although I had a different name in Atenveldt.
In the Kingdom of Atenveldt, our house strived to be the best there was. We organized Toys for Tots challenges to other houses and baronies. We always volunteered at Estrella War and made sure everyone, no matter their position, was welcomed and well fed.
Personally, I joined the Barony of Sundragons illumination ranks, which I still do to this day. I also participated in Target Archery, and competed at several events and wars. In 2005, I was part of a Kingdom war drum group that heralded our fighters onto battle at Estrella War.
Our Captain, Dante McGavin, bestowed upon me my own ship in 2010, when I left Arizona and took a brief break when I moved to North Dakota.
Upon my return to Atenveldt in 2013, I successfully started my own camp kitchen to continue the ideals of making sure the populace was well fed, without breaking their budget. At that time, I joined Legion based out of the Kingdom of Caid, as I had friends in the group. I have served as their Kitchen Mistress ever since.
In 2019, I officially moved to the Kingdom of Caid, and swore my allegience. I became Minister of Arts and Sciences for the Barony of Naevehjem in 2019. I've held several illumination classes during fighter practices, been event steward for Festival of the Rose and Co-Steward for our Barony's anniversary, Frost Dragon, and taught one on one classes for illuminations. During the height of the pandemic, I also taught online classes on Facebook live.
I attend several events every year with my husband, whom I met at GWW and now we will add our son, teaching him the dream that is the SCA.
